Vinted Shoppers Voice Displeasure Regarding Sizing Changes

Shoppers are voicing their frustration following a change that caused products showing incorrect sizing.

The popular resale platform has updated its sizing categories for female and kids' apparel without notifying all shoppers about the modification.

Social Media Reaction

Countless users and merchants have taken to social media stating that platform listings now display an altered size classification versus the original listing because of the remapping.

Vinted explained the revised method more closely matches other platforms.

They have suggested members to check their listings and manually change the size if necessary, which has left users frustrated.

Size Classification Changes

Before the change, the measurements included a single numeric size and a letter, like S/8 or M/10.

The new system has an alphabetical indicator and numerical range like S/UK 8-10.

With some products, the sizing has been recategorised - for example a size L used to be a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18.

User Experiences

One content creator, who produces content about larger sizing, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder".

"Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," which is what Vinted now does.

Stephanie Gallen, located in Scotland, said garments she listed with size 14 tags were appearing on the platform as larger sizing 20-22.

"If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they're going to be very disappointed," she explained.

Necessary Adjustments

Charlotte Lunn, from Derby, said she had been left angered because the modification necessitated personal updates the sizing for "all her products".

"This situation is especially annoying, because of my ongoing medical condition and Vinted sales have been crucial after experiencing income reduction," she stated.

Platform Context

The platform boasts over 100 million shoppers, including 18 million in the UK.

It has become a favored option versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop.

This isn't the first time where an unanticipated change to the app has proved unpopular: last year, the service retracted a modification concerning shipment methods after backlash from users.
